• Both MICARDIS^® and ramipril improved renal endothelial function in patients with type 2 diabetes, as measured by the response to L-NMMA
• MICARDIS^®, but not ramipril, significantly decreased renal vascular resistance and improved renal plasma flow at rest
• The positive effects of MICARDIS^® on endothelial dysfunction were accompanied by significant reductions in microalbuminuria, a key marker of cardiovascular risk
