The “ONTARGET^®: New Standard in Cardio and Vascular Protection” sponsored symposium, by Boehringer Ingelheim and Bayer Schering Pharma, was held in Berlin on June 18th at Hypertension 2008, the joint congress of the European Society of Hypertension and the International Society of Hypertension . A panel of international experts presented the latest findings from the landmark ONTARGET^® trial, discussed the role of ARBs in stroke prevention in the light of the results of another landmark trial, PRoFESS^®, and evaluated the role of ARBs in daily clinical practice.
